Whereas John Brokes of Stistede, Essex, leased Thomas Touten a messuage, toft, garden, curtilage and 24 acres of land and meadow in parish of St. George in Southewerk [Southwark] and Newynton [Newington], to be held from John Brokes as Henry Baille of Southwerk held them, Thomas Touten now leases out of them the lands and tenements which are held in chief of the fee of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England and the Prior of Bermoundesey; also one grange situate on land held of the fee of the Prior of Christchurch, Canterbury.
