TitleLetters Patent.
Description6 April 7 Edward III. Edward I grants to John de Lecche, clerk, 100 acres of New Forest waste near Northleghe [Norley] near Baddesleye [Boldre]. Rent: 16s. 8d. Recites that these acres were formerly granted to Hugh de Rishton by Edward I, on condition that he enclosed the land with a little ditch and a low hedge, and cultivated them. John de Lecch obtained them from Peter Seward of Wymburnmynster [Wimborne Minster, Dorset], clerk, and Peter from Richard le Palmere, brother and heir of Hugh, and they were entred without royal licence. The King therefore pardons John. Great Seal. [Defective, but good impression].
