Mentions one member of the Mackintosh family (James Mackintosh's brother) who had 'died on his way to join the patriot army', and the fact that James Mackintosh's 'sacrifice in a financial way was quite worthy to rival that of his brother'. Refers to bonds and debentures which seem to have been raised in connection with Mackintosh supplying the Colombian government with military equipment.
