TitleFrom James Mackintosh to Thomas Colfox, Bridport..
DescriptionLetter incomplete. 'the Government' has asked for the Mendez debentures to be returned before payment can be made. Is sorry to lose Mr Warburton's influence especially after a delay of nine months - feels the delay has been 'injurious' and 'unnecessary'. Views Mr Warburton's 'pretence' to be making application to Lord Palmerston but in reality using his information otherwise as unfair. States that 'the charge you have made against me in a most cruel and unjust manner I expect you will retract'. Is keen to know Colfox's intentions at once because he does not wish that the five sixths interest he represents should be 'paralised' by the one sixth interest that Colfox represents.
